Wouldn't it really need break in? I am not sure
I couldn't resist excitement to floor gas and rev to max the first day I receiving this monster with plenty troque throughout the range
My exhaust pipes are full of carbon tinted

The manual said prior to 2000km. Don't rev up above 4000rpm and avoid kick down. I abided to it. Not sure it's mandatory?

Must be slightly different for 535i and 550i. We are advised not to exceed 4500rpm and 160kph for the first 2000km

Not that I have a lot of opportunities going about 3500rpm and 120kph in HK

That's what we have too for 528. Didn't dig out the manual so figures not accurate.

Nope. Necessary? Didn't say so in the manual.

BTW, I only clocked less than 2500km for now. Hehe. My car is almost 6 months old.
