Has anyone made this trade? Regrets?

I haven't owned an M3 but I've driven a couple and I've owned a faster car in the past... no regrets.
Have you test-driven the D yet?

As long as you get a 335d and not a 320d you will be ok with it. I've never owned an M3 E90/92, but I've driven them both. In my opinion, and most everyone else's here, is that the M3 can never be downgraded from. This simply isn't true. we say such things because they really are the most awesome street car out there sub-80 grand.
As far as the 335d goes, with 36 MPG hwy and 425 ft lb of torque, any around town driving you do will be "explosive." haha She has the power to push you and your occupants heads back and have them emit "oh sh*t," at the same time. Just get the M sport package (or just sport if they even still have that) for the stiffer suspension. |

I just traded in my '03 E46 M3 for '11 335i w/ M-sport pkg. I do miss the M3 but I absolutely love driving the 335. I had no performance mods on my M3 so the 335 feels a lot quicker in lower rpm ranges. love the new car, no regrets!
