07 335I no A/C compressor Bad?

The other day my A/C stopped working.
So I've spent a few hours trying to diagnose the issue.
First thing I checked was the pressures on the high and low side, resulting in both sides being equal (80psi). Leading me to believe that the compressor is either not working or is not being turned on. So I checked to make sure that the magnetic valve on the back of the compressor was getting power. It was, 12volts, so I'm assuming that it needs a compressor but at the expensive price tag could there something else, maby a expansion valve?
If so how do I check it?

Changed expansion valve, same problem. Talked to a A/C compressor specialist rebuilder company they said the magnetic regulating valve on the back of the compressor may have gotten stuck. Going to try to free it up tonight.

I am curious to the problem when you find out since you know what you are doing. Hope it's all resolved.

There is a good possibility that these compressor are ground switched and have 12 volts all the time (I'm guessing, but some of the newer domestic stuff is this way) Im going to guess and say its low on refrigerant, most common problem I see in A/C systems. Your high side pressure is low, plus it all depends on ambient temp as well.
