Future value m1

Hi I'm looking to upgrade my BMW to the new M1 coupe. Anyone got any sensible predictions on what the value of the car would be in say three years time due to the limited numbers being made?

Hard to say... if I had that fore-site, I'll be rolling in dough. I can say it'll hold better value say an 2011 e92 or e90 M3.

My guess that in 3 years, it will be normal depreciation, but I have a feeling that the car may become a bit of a cult bimmer, a la the Z3 M Coupe, over time. One big determining factor will be what is up BMW's sleeve for the next M2. If it kicks the 1M's butt, performance wise, and looks decent, the 1M will continue to depreciate like any M3 or 135i.

From the PCP quotes I had, after 3 years you're looking at £16k-£19k

Four years, which I went for I can be more accurate on. 1 company was £14.7k and another £12.7k but the latter will have some equity in it.

These figures are based on 10k miles p.a.

In the UK secondhand values should be ok if condition excellent and mileage low as already seeing above list cars selling, not many will ever come to the market at any one time as supply limited to 450. Some like myself intend to keep it forever. Might be a few cars coming to the market together in 3 years if people take on lease. Will be a good track car for reasonable money. Even when new M2 comes out in 3 years that will be £45k plus with inflation, so £30k for a 3 year old 1M then will still be great value.

Other BMW cars that have held their value in UK?

Decent E46 M3 CSL -£30k
Original M3 sport Evo now £55k if you can find one
Z8- £80k!
