Code reading
I have a D-Can cable that I use to do coding, can I use it to read the error code shown on the dash?
Which software can do code reading? Thanks

You can look up the codes in this 4 digit format or in the P1xxx format. Just try to search for them on Google.
You have to use INPA to open the specific modules to see the errors in detail. You'll see the P codes in the detail screen. For example, to see the DME error in detail, you'll go to the Engine screen (I think) then read the detail error. Go to the DSC module to see the detail DSC error. KOMBI is the instrument module. I hope that makes sense. I've noticed that coding the car will generate some errors but once you clear them, they don't come back.
