Saw my first AW 1M on the road. Not quite what I expected.
I couldn't stop laughing and the poor people saw me taking pictures. I hope they didn't think I was impressed.

BMW should have made a little more effort with the badge for the 1M.
They've used a box standard M-Badge! In the last two days i've seen a 520i and a 3-compact with the same M-Sport badge. I don't want to be seen as having the same badge as every other "M-Wannabee"...! |

I wish I could have gotten more pics. The BMW Roundel was everywhere, the wheels (err, I mean hubcaps), the hood, etc...

Maybe those people can't afford a BMW?
But at the same time love the cars and want to display it?

I find it funny and a little pitiful, but it doesn't bother me any.

I can't tell if they're being snarky (i.e. my Elantra looks like your BMW, but costs a s$%t-ton less) or if they are just plain ol' warped.
It's good for a chuckle though. |

I doubt they're being snarky. It's the same principle as the autozone fake stick on vents. People see something that they associate with money/power/performance/premium, whatever so they emulate it. Maybe they just don't realize how stupid it looks to people that actually know a little about that stuff.

I think its a kia, but I couldn't find any pictures that matched the rear lights to prove it. BTW, I just saw a real 1M in person and it looks much better.
Thanks for your time Dan P!
