Leipzig Plant tour in english August 30th or September 19th

I have scheduled a tour in English on August 30th. Anyone interested in splitting the cost?

EDIT: I personally cannot attend the 30th so I have scheduled an additional tour on September 19th. If the original attendees pull out I will cancel the tour on August 30th. I have sent them a PM and am awaiting their response.

English tours cost 120 euros for a group of maximum 30

For small groups of 6 or less the cost is 80 euros

I scheduled the tour on the 30th at 2pm for me and my Dad. We may or may not have a third person.

Well... I would be interested in going. Anyone else? We all can split the difference.

August 30th is a Tuesday.

I know the public (German) tours are only done on Mondays and Firdays, either at 08:00 or 16:00. Takes almost 3 hours and you walk about 4 kms. cost was 8 euros I think.

My ED paperwork mentions factory tours but then also states the following.

"Please make your customer aware that starting on 8/15 through 9/4 there will be no factory tours available due to the factory production break.".

I wonder if the plant will be producing cars during the production break in order to meet demand.

Does your paperwork refer to munich plant? Or Leipzeg? Or are all BMW plants closed at the same time?

They probably mean the Munich Plant. The Leipzig plant should be open during that timeframe.

I have double checked with Leipzig and their break is " from 23.07.2011 to 06.08.2011"

Yes, thats correct! They make you lockup all electronic devices: Handys/cell phones, cameras, ect... in a starage room down in the lobby. Then you go on the walking tour. It takes about 2.5 hours and 4kms in walking. wear comfy shoes!

There is also a small gift shop in the lobby of the factpory. There is also a small Factory run dealership at teh factpry enterance. Some of you guys might want to come early and look around there. Its always cool to look at what the Germans get (options) on their cars.

Sadly, I cannot make this date for this tour. I am scheduling an additional tour on the 19th of September due to problems I had with travel documents that forced me to change my flights.

If people are still interested in this tour on the 30th I will update the attendance list with the factory otherwise I have to cancel the tour on the 30th.

Everyone is welcome to the tour on the 19th of September.
