ED for a 1 M

I ordered a white no options 1 M at the end of the week and put my deposit down on the car ($2,500). I am now thinking about doing an ED.

The MSRP price is $47010 (which is what I will get the car for for US delivery), which puts the US invoice at $43240, which puts the ED invoice at $40,215, per the bimmerfest ED calculator.

Normal offer would be 1000 over ED invoice, so $41,215.

Thoughts on what a fair offer would be to the dealer?

ED MSRP would be fantastic. Ask for any more discount than that and you may find yourself at the back of the line (with a possible kick in the shin).

Normal rules dont apply for the 1M b/c they come out of dealer allocation. All other ED deliveries do not.

Put simply, the dealer has VERY LITTLE incentive to sell the car at any discount. PLus, its limited run, limited units, and getting great reviews. There are many stories here of people searching for a loooong time just to find one.

Take ED MSRP if you can, US MSRP if you MUST have it.

If you do happen to get less than ED MSRP, please let the board know

Good luck

Im close to stripped AW ED myself.

I have had my Deposit on my car since Last October at Retail MSRP. Got my Allocation last month. I have worked with my CA and dealer trying to talk them into the ED discount, since I am doing my ED next month.

Just last week they have agreed to split the ED discount with me, so that amounts to ~$1500 below retail MSRP. I will challenge anyone to post pics of final sales papers with a better deal than that.

Good luck with your deal!

Do you mean you got one for ED at $1500 below the US MSRP? We just put down payment for one at ED MSRP with a November allocation.

$1500 below Retail MSRP. This was the best deal I could get. If you do get the full ED discount please let us know when you pay for the car.

Thanks

I won't have the final sales papers for a while but I will upload the build sheet when I have it.

I have a build sheet that shows my ED order and all options. This build sheet comes from the ED group for all ED cars and it shows the Full ED MSRP price. Yet my dealer along with many others won't give the full discount ED price on the 1M. If you haven't signed an agreement with your dealer for the full ED discount I would suggest you contact your CA and do so. If you have a signed agreement for the ED Discount, good for you!

Some dealers have done the price switch on customers, this happened to me.

So the price I am talking about is the Sales Contract when you actually Pay for the car including Sales Tax and License. This will be the Final price on the car when you drive off with it.

I believe more than a handful of people have received ED MSRP. I've been promised ED MSRP by my CA.

I have heard that as well. But....

Purchase price is proof.

indeed will be interesting to see what people ended up paying, if they are willing to share. There was a thread for that, but I lost track of it

I doubt anyone will post a picture of the actual bill of sale, but I did quite a bit of research because I was planning on ED. But circumstances changed so I am picking it up stateside with PCD.

I will post mine later in the week after the final numbers get worked out. Right now it stands at US dealer pickup for MSRP $47,010. I would do a ED for anything under $43,500.

I felt pretty good about full sticker price to get one when I was not even looking for one 2 weeks ago. I just called and asked the local dealership and they had one with two people talking about putting a deposit down on it. I cut a check for a car that was allotted to them for Oct delivery and they did not even know what color the car would be. Turns out the car had not been spec'd out, so I go to pick: White no options. This is a autocross track day car for me, so I was not going to put any weight on the car from options. Truly, if you are going to option this car out you are probably buying the wrong car.

easy there, fella. You'll get ripped with statements like that. People can buy, and option, any car they want for any reason they want. america=free to do what you want

If you can get ED MSRP, that would be great. Anything under that is gravy. I paid over ED MSRP because I wanted it really bad and had to have a July build so I can get August ED. Otherwise, could not do it after August! Offer what you want but ED MSRP is more than fair for the current market conditions. Also, a lot of dealers don't want to do ED on 1M so that's an extra consideration. Good luck. I get mine Aug. 1!

You are right, that is why I can post I think this is not a car for options, it is a track car that you can daily. The ride has been reported as harsh and most people that want options are not going to want a harsh ride.

For me I am excited that this car could have a real chance to win at Nationals in STU or A Stock.

Just for my frame of reference and point, I have been waiting for years for a BMW car that is not bloated with options. Here is my STU e46 ///M3 ride from last year, which is slower than my E36 ///M3 from the year before due to weight. Options are weight:

Me in the E46 ///M3 heavy:

My co-driver in my E36 ///M3 less options faster car:

One of my instructors reviewing the 1 M for auto authority early in the year:

my company autocrosstraining.com we sale Race-Keeper data loggers

So, yes, I am a purest and IMO loading one of these cars up is kind of missing the point.

Sorry for the

Why are you always negative about allocations and pricing?

I just read about 2-3 people picking up allocations in the last day or two and its mid July now.

YES there are allocations out there and YES you can get ED and YES you can get ED MSRP and maybe better. I know 2 at $500 over ED invoice and numerous at ED MSRP.

You are right, I put the cost in the spreadsheet with the delivery charge by mistake. I am going to start at 42000ish and see what happens. You don't know until you ask.

good luck... Realistically though, ED MSRP is pretty much the best deal that can be struck. However... the game has changed slightly, with all of the allocations popping up... I guess it's worth a shot... .

I paid standard ED price, which I believe was around $3500 under US MSRP on a loaded VO car. Dropped it off last night at the Munich airport drop after around 1750 memorable miles.
