road force balancing shop
Has anyone ever used "Accurate Automotive" down here at Burlington, off 3A?
They quoted me 80 bucks for all 4 tires road forced. I saw on TR that they have the Hunter GSP9700, pretty good price, no? |

Depends on the size and aspect of the tires. What tires and wheels?

I actually need to get my 19s rebalanced and Burlington would be crazy convenient. Let me know how things go.

pricing seems to suck now. just got quoted 28.90 each to m&b staggered 17s??!!
255/40 and 225/45 non-RFT on apex arc-8. tpms sensors already installed, wheels NIB. i live across the street from a major tire shop in dorchester- this morning they quoted me maybe 25, or 30-35 depending on the rim. funny how the first question they ask is what kind of car... call me paranoid but are they calculating the "tax" i'm going to pay? i didn't tell the shop this morning the car- only that i'll be bringing in new wheels in a box and tires fresh from Tirerack. i think that's why he gave me such a range. i could carry the set over by hand, but i'm a little hesitant to go there only to have them say... "oh yah, these wheels... on a bmw? that's 35 each." we'll see how accurate auto goes later this week. i called them up and made an appt for this thursday... |

Follow up...
Got stuck in Phoenix one more night than expected so I had to cancel my Thurs appt. Called at like 1830 expecting to have to leave a message- got through a live person and rescheduled for Fri morning. Fri arrives and I'm there with my stuff. Mount and balance taken care of quickly and promptly for my 730 appt. Roadforce balanced, with stick on weights. Nothing out of the ordinary. They were careful with my new wheels, offered to throw away my wheel boxes and dunnage and even provided my some wheel bags to protect my new wheels on the way home (loaded in back of jeep). I had already install the sensors on my wheels. There was mention that I would need to record the serial numbers for each sensor and then "code" them to my car so that they would work properly... I told them that my last set of new wheels/ sensors registered just fine after reinitializing via idrive. This set registered just fine too. In all honesty, I don't expect them to be an expert on all OEM TPMS... but there was a sense of "you don't know what you're talking about kid" when I explained how my car's system works. Anyway, I was in and out by the time it took to drink a large DD coffee. Would have been a killer deal at $80- but very surprising to get a quote for substantially more money only two weeks later. I even mentioned e90post and if there was a referral or discount for board members-- nada. For now, I'd say great place for locals, but not worth it to drive any further than your local place. I have a roadforce place literally across the street and just wanted to check out Accurate per this board. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again, but they seem very nice and professional. |

Really? they charged you 35 bucks a pop?? I called and confirmed that it was 80...the only thing i said was "really? just...80 bucks for road force, but i have a bmw?" Then the lady goes "yup..lemme check...*goes on hold*....**asks me about the year/model*...*hold*...."yup, 80"
I actually haven't done the balance yet, but i did show up and was about to do it, he talked me out of it and drafted a work recommendation order for me to take to a dealer since i was experiencing shimmying when braking 60mph+ only. Could be the rotors but now as i pay more attention to the shimmy, it's happening veeerrrryyy tiny bit when not braking at highway speeds. |
