WeissLicht LED Halos on 1M
A few folks have asked for pics of the WeissLicht LED Halo bulbs I ordered from HP Autowerks. These are some quick shots I just took to give you an idea. They're not very bright during the day (or at night really) but I really like the change in color. Anyway... here you go
But now that I think of it... I wonder if I didn't get the wrong bulbs by mistake? I double checked my invoice and it says Quote:

i have read some threads about angel eye upgrades but i still dont know whats the best upgrade?
seems like all the led kits are not that bright in sunlight? i saw one guy driving around in a e90 with extremly bright angel eyes but not for more than a few days before he got busted - now he is running stock bulbs again i suppose that was some kind of xenon stuff - it looked like the head lights were on full beam even in bright sunlight - just from the angel eyes - anyway they are too bright around here so what is the brightest upgrade that is non-xenon?

thanks for posting. i was thinking maybe i had not installed mine correctly but they look just like yours. i still like them a lot better than the amber bulb that came as OEM.
that right front light box is a bitch to get back on uh... i think there are brighter LEDs out there but for more than double the price from what I have seen. These worked perfectly for me and Harold at HP is great to deal with. |

As you can see the light is forced through the rings, not direct LEDs like the 3er, so even if you upgrade to LED bulbs all you are doing is forcing whiter light through. No matter what you do, it is impossible to replicate the new 3er style rings, so don't waste your money on 200/300 £/$ bulbs, because they have NO advantage over something such as the MTec Cosmos White for 20/30 £/$.

^^ good find
and what I find disappointing with the M, no LED's like the rest of the 'family' is adopting to.

I tried to change my H8 bulb but I saw that optical fiber points are different places as before version. Earlier model fiber points was in 180 degrees and LCI version they are in 90 degrees. I mean that these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LED-A...item4cf8c07a08) production can not work as well as good bacause the light not be directed to right place...

Getting this as a gift for my dad's 1M should be exciting too see the change. Any ways to change the upper LED strip to white?

I'll post pics in two weeks when I get my car. I did see a video of lux h8 v3's installed on a LCI 135i with no errors, but they didn't really show the angel eyes too much in that vid. I liked the way they looked on my 335i though.

Kind of off topic but I have ordered my LUX and it was shipped by the seller the next day.
But it seems that the package is still in the sorting facility of UPS in New Jersey. I will post some pictures when I get them. It should look like this. |

the LUX H8 V3 angel eyes are a pure white 6500k color and not green at all. We have specifically picked the LED to make sure there is no green or red hue to them at all.

Given how the 1er rings are illuminated (see my diagram above), I can see no difference in the way your bulbs operate on the 1er, so I do not understand how you warrant the price tag?

I am in no way saying your bulbs are not good, but from the examples I have seen (including the pictures in the thread you have linked to), LED bulbs offer no 'brightness' advantage over gas filled bulbs on the 1er.

I will attest for the LUX LED kit and say they are the best your going to get for the 1 series setup. TRUST ME I have tried them all and none come close to the LUX!!! They are more expensive for a reason due to the higher quality that is put into them. I have had all the popular halogen bulbs plus the above mentioned LED's and they don't come no where close to the LUX!!!!! If you want a pure white/ Very slight hue of blue output, the LUX kits are perfect
