Leipzig shutdown in August?
Does anyone have any additional info in regards to this matter? I have a week 34 build(last full week in August). Just wondering why any allocations would be issued for that week(or any other time in August) if the plant is going to be closed at this time. Anybody else that has a build week some time in August and has any concrete info feel free to chime in.

One thing you guys have to take into consideration is that each German state has its own set of holidays and breaks. Plus there are also federal (Bundes) Holidays as well For instance in Bayern (Munich)they might be off while in Sachsen (Leipzig) they could be open. I talked to the Welt just now... and asked them abou the summer break for Munich Werk/factory... they told me the factory in Munich will be closed from Augsut 13th until Sept 4th. No tours durring that time in Munich. I am waiting to hear back from Leipzig. But I think Papethova knows since he has been in contact with Leipzig Werk for his/our factory tour on August 30th. Ok guys! I just got confirmation today from Leipig Werk. Papethova's dates are correct, the factory will be closed from 23.07.2011 to 06.08.2011
One other interesting (HUGE!) tibit is that the 1M will be continued to be built for the first quarter of 2012!! Until the new F20 starts production. Here is the email I just got from the factory... thanks for your message. There are the answers to your questions: 1. Yes, the BMW Leipzig Plant closes for two weeks (23rd July till 6th August 2011) for summer holidays. 2. The BMW 1 Series M Coupé will also continue to be produced over December 2011. 3. Thanks for the confirmation, but this wasn't a surprise was it? I presume any US cars must be produced through 12/11... but other countries can continue to make deliveries into 2012.
