How long did it take to get your production number

All,

How long after putting down your deposit did you receive your VIR and production number? Day? Week? Month?

I'm impatient and curious how long others were waiting who recently put down deposits.

In particular, I'd like to know if there is a relationship between your supposed production week and when you get the VIN and/or prod number.

You won't receive a production number until the order moves into 111 status. That is until the order is accepted by BMW and staged for production. The VIN will follow that.

I placed my deposit in late May and received a production number last week when the vehicle moved into 111 status.

When the vehicle was in 047, I remember seeing a requested build date for mid-July on one of the reports the dealer ran with the original order being placed in January of this year by someone else.

Placed deposit in Febuary...still waiting and im now #1 as the guy who was number one gets his baby July 25th.

I put my deposit down early June for October build and nothing yet, BMW hasn't accepted the order yet. I think it will depend on the production slot and whether they will build it earlier. My dealer said the August slot moved up to June/July so very likely yours will move up too, but to when, no body knows or how much earlier it will be if at all! It's all in the hands of BMW

Placed my deposit in November 2010 for what I'm told is going to be the only 1M at the local dealer and finally received a call yesterday (11 July '11) that a production number has finally been issued for a Week 34 (late August) build.

I got a production number when my order was accepted by BMW (Status 111), the VIN came when the car started production (Status 150). I had a June Allocation and the production # came end of May, SOP started 6/10 and finished 6/22.

I put a deposit down at the end of April. Supposed to have an October allocation. This is a long wait.

My order went in around March or so and I got a confirmed allocation and production date around late June. My CA confirmed my car went into production last week and I have also seen this on the website.

Forgot to mention that I insisted they start a list the very second the 1M was rumored waaaaaay back in 2010.

I put the down payment down last week, they put in my order today, and sent me the VIR w/ prod number and 111 status today as well

Update to my situation with Suntrup BMW. Got my financing approved through BMWFS today and was supplied a production number! Called BMW NA and they confirmed it is in 112 status!

I am honestly but very happily surprised that Suntrup came through!

Deposit on Dec 10th and got a build number at the end of May for week of July 4th build. Should be here in a couple of weeks.
