RPM by geat, optimal shift points

Its not unusual for someone to say that the 335d needs to shift \"sooner\" than the 335i. I don\'t make that assumption on face value. The geek in my craves theoretical or empirical proof.

We should have the data necessary to graph RPM ranges by speed for each gear. And with dyno data to calculate optimal shift points at WOT. Assuming that the torque converter is locked up, which it will be by the end of 2nd gear.

Has anyone already done the calculations for these two cars?

LOL

That said, Andy, I've told myself that when I have some spare time, I'll whip up an Excel spreadsheet to see where the optimized "power under the curve" would be. Just waiting for some spare time...

Cheers
D.
