Will a catless downpipe throw a code?

I just ordered an AR 4" Catless Downpipe from AR Design. Thanks Chris for your A+ customer service! My question is will the catless downpipe throw a code? Also could I be denied on my warranty or complimentary service (oil change) if they see the downpipe? I do have the latest DME software update. I'm also looking forward on picking up a JB3 Stage 1 this weekend.

Yes, installing a catless DP will throw a code, and you need a tune to have the code auto-erased. And no they will not deny you complimentary service but depending on the relationship with your SA, your car can be flagged and they will hold it against you if you ever have a major warranty claim.

Thanks for the input. So I would then need the CAN TOOL to clear the code since I'm getting a JB3, correct?

There is a DP fix on the way, so you won't have to clear those nasty codes everytime... But no ETA on release...

---------Update------------
I asked Terry about this over on ******boost and he stated:
"The Stage2 has it built in. With the Stage1, you have the option of using the CT full time in autoclear mode."

So DP fix is integrated into the Stage 2, when it releases, otherwise if your a Stg 1 user, you need to get a CT... Or invest in a BT tool and clear the codes every-time it pops up...

Sorry for the thread jack, but what are the options for flash tune to get rid of the code? I'm also looking at the ar design dp.

Sorry for the thread jack, from the catless downpipe DIY link, what is the purpose to un-hook the 02 sensors under the hood in order to install a catless downpipe?
this is the diy link:

Ok so I got the same info from Terry and I have 2 options:

Wait for Stage 2 to be released or run Stage 1 with the CT connected full time in auto clear mode. hmmm decisions....

Get the Stg 1 and run with the CT full time, then pay 100-150 to upgrade to JB4 and your still a winner...

FWIW I believe the current release of the PROcede has this built-in.

Yes, you can go that route as well... There is also the difference of price between the two, and all the other nonsense that I'm sure will start now with the mention of the procede.

1 advantage I see to getting the JB3 with CT is that, if you need to remove the JB3, you can still use the CT to clear codes (or get a BT tool). With the procede, once you remove, you can't clear codes, you still would need a BT tool... Not that anyone would want to remove codes after a tune has been removed, or change the service intervals... or what have you...

Good points surely. I really wasn't trying to start anything with the suggestion. Just figured it is kind of convenient to have it built-in instead of requiring something separate.

I kind of thought the idea with the PROcede was to clear codes, pull it, then let it generate whatever codes it wants since it most likely means you are heading to the dealer anyhow? YMMV of course, that was just my thinking.

Yeah I'm leaning toward this route and sticking to my plan as I will pick up the JB3 Stage 1 this weekend with the CT full time tucked under my seat, and 4" AR DP installed. When S2 is out then I will do the upgrade. Thanks everyone for your input!
