Badge Question

Out of curiosity, I ordered a "1" emblem from a supplier, and it came today. I am thinking of putting it in front of the ///M emblem on the trunk. Luckily, it is the same size top-to-bottom as the ///M emblem is. That way it would say 1M on the tail.

The M3 has M3 on the trunk
The M6 has M6 on the trunk

Opinions please. I may have a reasonable supplier for them if we want to do a group buy since BMW did not put one on.

Some people driving behind you might think that you got a 1er with a 1M look/kit, rather than a 1M car. Fake badges slammed on cars are often tell tale signs about the persons driving them. Doesn't do justice to the 1M IMHO.
Reminds me to some extent of the opposite situation: a guy in my neighborhood back in the 80s with a red Japanese tuned car ...tackily sporting the black/yellow prancing horse emblems (glued at the right spots) on both sides. Neighborhood folks used to call him "Mister Ferrari", and you can tell that that was no compliment.
You got a 1M. If I were you, I'd keep it "as is".

I'm not really opposed to the idea, but I think it might not look right on the left side of the /// because of the slanted edged on that side. Put it on, and take pictures so you/we can get a better idea of how it looks....

We call it a 1M but officially it is a 1 series M coupe. Ie, just a M badge. Just like the old M coupe and M roadster - a single M.

To me, putting a 1 in front doesn't look right, but it's up to you. I don't think the enthusiast has too much problem with it, as you are not putting a ///M on a non - M.

I agree with Artemis, but if u insist, you can just buy an M1 badge wont resemble the real name, but just about there hehe.

or if you want to take it even one step further, separate and swap the M and the 1 lool

You can see how things can get complicated

IMO "as is"

Swap it with a 128i badge. You'll have fun at the traffic lights

My opinion is no. It would look silly with the placement in front of the ///.

I can appreciate you wanting to differentiate the car from previous models like the M Roadster, but I agree with whoever said it will end up looking like you modded a 135.

But what do I know?... I DON'T EVEN HAVE MINE YET!!!!!!!

Leave it as it is from the factory.

I vote for leaving it alone. Granted, it should have been called the M1 from the start, or the 1 M with a 1 badge, but adding the badge after the fact just makes it look out of place. I'm one of those, 'if it didn't come from the factory, it's not meant to be there' type of people.

I like the 'understatedness' of the 1M only have the ///M at the rear. Like the original M coupe.

Not a fan of debadging or adding badges. I would let it be.
