I'd have to say much prettier too and infinitely harder to keep clean.

How do you know it's inifinately harder to keep clean? According to a forum member here, Lemon is not hard to keep clean. And I would think so too. Just the floor mats and trims would be easier to keep clean as they are black in colour.

Beige is beige... all over (lower dash, headliner, doors, carpets...). Lemon is lighter & fresher and concerns the seats and door inlays only. It looks hard to keep clean, but it isn't because much of the interior (carpets) is black. Having had both beige and lemon in my BMWs, I would say the latter is both better looking and easier to keep clean. It does not cost any more than other leather trim options.
LEMON: BEIGE:

Well when you have Lemon interior, you have to be careful with any jeans and such, since anything can leave marks. It's much more noticeable than, say, a black or a gray. Any light color is. Lemon, being lighter than beige, I'd expect to be even harder to keep clean since it's a lighter shade, meaning more imperfections show through.

Lemon is harder to keep clean than black obviously, but actually far easier than grey, I have owned both, the Lemon is fine for looking after, it shows dirt easily but that also means you notice it before it is ground in and a quick wipe brings it up looking like new again.

I don't have Paul's experience yet, but I don't think it is going to be too difficult to keep clean. The key is to make a simple cleaning part of your detailing routine. If you're the kind of person who never cleans the interior then maybe it's not for you. For me, the beauty of the color combination is well worth a little extra effort to maintain.
The only warnings that I've heard are regarding wet jeans and dark colored leather belts. I can see where the dye from those would be hard to get off if it transferred. Lemon isn't for everyone, and that's part of what I like about it.

Leather jacket = timeless fashion and comfort.
Leather pants = I'm looking for a new boyfriend to dominate me.

I'll just leave all the talk about leather pants to the experts above.
As for Lemon vs Beige, someone is having trouble with jeans on beige as well, so it can happen with any light color.http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=726980 The two tone colors, Lemon and Terra, add some extra personality to the interior that is missing from Black, Beige and Grey. If you like the look and your not a total slob, it is really worth it. |
