Damaged 1M Delivered
Anxiously awaiting the delivery of my VO 1M today I couldn't sleep at all last night. I promptly went to meet the driver and truck which it was being delivered on at 11am this morning. After the car was on the ground I began inspecting the car and to my horror found that the car had been raised to high inside the truck at some point. The top of the roof has a dent roughly the size of a softball and the paint is removed from being raised into an overhead light in the truck. I'm not sure if I have ever been so happy one moment and so shocked the next. Working on trying to get the car repaired but the shipping company is not cooperating Just had to vent.

Was it delivered to the dealer or to your house. Wouldn't the dealer take care of it if it was delivered to the dealer before sale?

Oh wow...sorry to hear that. It can be fixed. The dealer should make this right, though. If this type of repair is reported to Carfax, the dealer should also reimburse you for potential loss in value.

It was delivered from a dealer out of state by a company that the dealership "frequently" uses. Just frusterating because the company isn't being, shall we say, the most pleasant to deal with.

Who organised the shipping - you or the dealer?

Sorry to hear about that. If you signed the shipping inspection document and they failed to place the damage in there, you may not be able to go after them for the damage. If the damage is indicated in the shipping inspection document then, they will HAVE to pay to have it fixed.

At least the damage was not as bad as the one in Korea.
I feel for you. Sounds to me like a PDR and a repaint of the whole roof. I'm curious about the paint. I spoke to a body shop about the VO, they say it will be difficult to get the color code for it because its so new. Last edited by !mspinster; 07-23-2011 at 03:46 PM.. |
