Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers Pic Request
Hey all,I was wondering if anyone has come across pictures of any 1M's equipped with the carbon fiber mirror covers... If anyone has a picture of a Black Sapphire car that would be extra helpful but anything is appreciated and helps!

I have the covers on my bsm 1M. If I get a chance today or tomorrow, I'll take a picture.

No problem. Just did three quick ones with my IPhone.
Standing out there, I remembered something, though: I am not sure, if these are original BMW or if they were made specifically for my M3 (these are the same covers I had on my M3, so they're more than three years old). I had a couple of carbon parts specially made, I just can't remember if the covers were made or if they are original BMW Performance, sorry!

I hate to be a raoyal pain in the ass, but if you dont mind taking two more for me I would greatly appreciate. One from the front about ten feet away from the car and one of the side from about the same distance, I just want to see how they appear from further away, and also how they look with the stock wheel finish. No big deal, but like I said it would be very much appreciated and thank you again for the previous photos they also help and honestly are making me want these.

Sure, will do, no big deal. Can't promise, that it will happen tonight though. It may be too dark to take pictures by the time I get out of the office. If so, I'll take them tomorrow morning coming in to work. I'm not exactly sure how much 10 feet are, though... I'll just take a pic from the front with the entire car on it and one from the side and upload them high-res enough, that you can pull out whatever you need. Ok?

Also, I was wondering what your impressions were on the Performance seats vs stock seats, do you feel the same bucket seat position can be emulated into the stock seat with the right adjustments of the seat positioning controls? I notice the thigh area comes up higher and I was wondering about how much of a tilt roughly there is vs stock.

This is something we offer for the M3 guys, but due to the fact that we share the same mirrors you can always do a little something different

Kinda M5 style-look. I like it. Is the paint line cut then the whole thing clear coated in the end on those?

The paint procedure is essentially as you described, but we also make sure to wet sand and polish the line so that it does not have a visible depression from the paint to the carbon.

@Andrew: Thanks! As I wrote above... I'm not sure anymore, if they're BMW Performance. I had a bunch of carbon parts made for my M392, when I bought it and I am not sure if the mirror covers were made for me or if they were BMW Performance stuff. They're 3 years old and came off my M392 when I traded it in. I had front splitters (and a diffusor to cover the rusty exhaust, as well as a rear carbon lip) made for my M3 before BMW offered them for the car with the competition package. I had it done simply because the lift on the front axle above 250km/h was insane with the stock aero!
@bmw13: The main reason I have the Performance seats are the 4-point harnesses I have in the car. They work with those, they don't with the stock seats. You can see here how I sit in my car and that's how I feel comfortable driving. The seating position is a wee bit to high but other than that, perfect. You cannot recreate that seating position in the stock seat. Impossible. And no... the shifter is not stock. Everything underneath is completely rebuilt. The throws are shorter than stock, even though the shifter is a lot longer.

I really love your car man, like a lot. I love the shifter set up, reminds me of an e30 rally set up! Thanks again for taking the time and the pictures, I have my dealer quoting me now!

The shifter is awesome! We offer a similar setup but with a urethane knob.
