Pretty Interesting

BMW’s overhauled M5, to be unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show next month, will go on sale in the U.S. next year, he said. The model will burn over 30 percent less fuel than its predecessor while allowing for 10 percent more performance.

Exclamation

I would ignore that rubbish, the RS5 is awful for fuel economy, handles like dog and has torque high up the rev range. There is NO WAY the new M5 has 10% more performance than the E60 M5 from the figures I have seen.

Actually the Bloomberg article got it wrong on the 10% figure. The official BMW North America press release said 30% less fuel and 10% more engine output than the outgoing E60 M5 (which is accurate). As far as Nurburgring figures are concerned, the F10 M5 spanked the E60 - 7:55 vs. 8:13 (E9x M3 did 8:05, and E63 M6 did it in 8:09, 1M was 8:15 - so until new M6 comes out, the F10 M5 is fastest M car ever on that track, save the E46 M3 CSL (at 7:50) and E92 M3 GTS (7:48).

That F10 M5 is badass... I love my NA E93 with the S65 engine to death, and the S85 in the prior M5 & M6 was awesome - but in terms of raw performance, neither is a match for the S63tu (which according to reliable sources is actually making closer to 560hp at the wheels, rather than at the crankshaft as is being officially reported).

The car isn't even out and you are already spouting negativity. Wait for release
