They are called day time running lights... The run all day.. You can turn them off using the BC under lights setting...

Yes, NRL's (nighttime running lights) are called headlamps and they stay on when you turn your switch for driving at night. Unless you put the switch to the auto setting and they come on by themselves when it gets dark.
