DIY video: convert h11 to 9006 foglights

for those who bought the mtech kit, you must convert your h11 foglights to 9006. all the harness you need should come with the kit. heres is how it's done.

Text version of how to do this...

realoem.com can give you the part numbers for the foglight sockets/connectors if you don't have them already. (I removed my M Aero bumper and put back the original one so I know.) You can just remove the little metal clips from the connectors, (original connectors are black, M aero are grey), and plug them into the new ones.

Look at your new connector, you will find a blue bar/piece inside that can slide up and down.

Disconnect your old plug from fog light bulb, and look for this blue bar/piece. Raise it up. It helps hold the clips in place.

Now you'll need to remove the metal clips that attach to the prongs of the bulb, but they are still held in place by something else:
Do this by pushing a small screwdriver down the sides of the clip. Looking at a clip, (there are two per socket/connector, inside you see two pieces of metal that look like " || " which attach to the metal prong from the light bulb. Push hard to break a little plastic thing holding the metal clip in place at the "+" position. +||+. Once you've pushed through on each side, (don't push too far or you might damage the rubber plug/water seal. I'm actually not sure whether I damaged one or it was damaged before when the shop swapped to the M bumper. I damaged 1 of the 3 that I did, the 1st clip just slid out because the one who installed it didn't slide it into the plug/connector all the way.)

You can now easily slide the clip out the back of the connector and slide it in the new one. (Be sure you remember to slide the blue bar/piece down before you attempt to attach the plug to your new bulb, otherwise you will break it. I did that in my excitement. I nearly completely destroyed the 1st old plug to remove the one clip because I couldn't figure out what else was holding it in. Again note that one clip just slid out because it wasn't inserted all the way.)

Sorry no pics, I'm not good at taking them and posting. If anyone must have them I can try to post some of the pieces I have left, (maybe pm me because I'm not planning on visiting this DIY anymore.) Or if you're in the area you can let me know and I can possibly show you...
