Newbie...325i sport

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum, but not to BMWs. My brother has a 2007 5 series (I think e60…) and I love it, driving his made me want a BMW of my own. I am in the process of purchasing a 2006 325i with sport package. Love the seats! I have a question about the tires though. I heard that they don’t last that long 15k on average. I was wondering for the winter could you put the standard, all-season, 17 inch rim/tire package that comes on the 2006 330i or even the standard 16 inch package that comes on the 325i? Will this work, or do you need spacers because the back rim is 8.5 inch wide, not 8.0 inches?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really want to have a set of winter rim/tires and summer rim/tires. I don’t want to keep swapping out the tires on the sport rims.

Thanks!

i have an 325i non sport. I bought the 161 sport package 17" wheels for my car and dramatically looks better. You can use the 16" for winter. With 16", the rears look sucken in, spacers will help.

thanks solace. i figured i would need spacers, but as long as i can put the 16 inch rim/tires on i am fine with it. do the spacers impact performance? i am assuming any bmw service department would be able to do this for me, right?

anyone else have experience with this?

welcome
they should last over 20k if you drive normally and check your pressure on a regular basis.
