color decision - any inputs?

I am trying to decide between Black Sapphire and Sparkling Graphite.

I have always had black cars in the past, but have a couple concerns. First, I am starting a new job, and may not have the time I used to that is required to maintain a black car looking good. Is the SG eaiser to keep clean? Second, the new job is in Texas where it is really hot, and maybe the SG would be a little cooler in the sun? That might be a stretch. Finally, the SG is the first color in a while that makes me consider another color besides black. It does look good on this car.

Unfortunatly, I have only been able to see a SG in person. The dealer near me has not had a Sapphire come in yet. Since I may be placing my order in the next couple days, I may be making the decision before I can actually lay my eyes on a Sapphire. The last thing I want to do is actually see a black E90 later and regret my decision!

Any opinions?

Hi Pete, my thought on this is that you have many new cars in great new colors. As perfect as they may seem at first, I think you may get tired of those colors after a while. My last car was a Volvo S40 (don't ask ) and I bought it in a new color Titan grey, because it looked good and there were already so many S40's around that I thought it would be special. It was indeed special (colorwise), but after a couple months I did regret not buying a black one. In my opinion, you never get tired of black.
About not having enough time to clean it... c'mon... it doesn't take thàt long, does it? Cleaning your car is a nice passtime, ideal to get rid of all that stress at work. This is just my opinion... I bought the sapphire black... as you may have imagined...

You are probably right on the cleaning. I do actually enjoy washing it on the weekends.

Has your been delivered yet? How does the Sapphire look in person? My old M3 was cosmos black - absolutely loved it and wish they still had the color.

This brought tears to my eyes!!

What truth..I would never go for something else because of the maintenance factor..There is nothing more reqarding than finshing a Zaino job on a sapphire black car..especially an E90, which I saw yesterday for the first time, and let me just say..OH MY GOSH...Its ten times nicer looking than the ones in the pictures...and just wait until you put those clear headlight assemblies in there...

I ordered Black Sapphire, but haven't got my car yet. My next choice would be Titanium Silver.

You can get cosmos black in your e90, but you have to shell out an extra $2000. Just ask your dealer, they can do anything.

Only $2k? That is just a bit too much! I am leaning strongly toward BSM. I am going to call some other dealers in the area and see if they have any in that color to chek out.

BSM is slightly lighter than JB. If you want the deeper black, JB is the best option. I went with BSM because i wanted that extra shine.

I also did black interior with Aluminum. If you've seen A3ndy's interior, it looks exactly the same and really sharp.

Mine won't be delivered until end of June... ordered it end of March... pff... haven't even seen it in Black Sapphire myself, but I have complete faith. Interior is black leather for the same reason.

I believe that black sapphire and cosmos are the same color. The reason BMW introduced the cosmos name was to differentiate the color palette for the ///M cars.

I really like the 162 wheels and they look so amazing on a black car...they pop out at you and look twice the size as on the TiSilver car where they seem to blend in. The headlights pop, the grill pops out, the chrome tailpipes pop out.......you're right....it's hard to get tired of black! It's going to force me to keep it clean and that's probably a good thing. (my TiSilver car gets 3x more wheels washes than car washes)

True True. Black does make the alloys and chrome grills etc stand out.

look at my test drive pics http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=168

You won't go wrong with SG.
