Auto-dimming Mirrors
My eyes are very sensitive to glare and every time I drive at night The only way to get the autodimming rearview and side mirrors on the e90 is by purchasing the premium package. Unfortunately, this is the only thing I want in the premium package and I don't want to spend the two to three thousand dollars this package costs just to get the mirrors. Anyone know of another way to get these mirrors?

You'll probably need to order the self dimming mirror at your dealer's parts dept. and have it installed. I doubt the dealer will give you credit for the original mirror. It might make a really cool paperweight for the office though.

Athos, did you notice in sharp's brochure scans that you can buy a separate auto-dimming mirror? This should solve your problem of needing auto-dimming mirror but not wanting to buy the whole sports package just for that feature. Check out Item B below.

I've changed rearview mirror with the auto dip + compass. It works well now. I did not pursue on the side mirror dip as it was too costly to make way for it (a pair of mirrors + wires + programming, etc). The rearview costs at least USD700++. Try buying them a drink.

I wonder if some good window tint on the sides and back would have the desired effect. It obviously wouldn't dim more in the presence of bright lights, but it might cut the glare enough that you don't care.
