15 day build time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Placed my order over the phone on Friday April 22 for a 330i. Started production on April 25 and just completed production on Monday May 9th. Is that faster the normal, or did I order before the rush? So the promise of late June or early July delivery should come true, maybe even a couple of weeks early.
Do the days seem extra long after you place an order  or is it just me? I guess its time to market the 540i

that seems long. They can usually get your car done in 48 hours. Mine took 4 days, but they may had delays, weekends, public holidays etc.

Doesn't matter to me how long they take, as long as they do it with the tender loving care i expect of BMW AG.

How long can one expect to wait for each of the steps in the order process: On Order, Scheduled for Production, Awaiting Transport, En Route, At Preparation Center, and At Your BMW Center? I placed my order on May 4th and am still at the On Order stage when I check in with the BMW Owner’s Circle. My salesmen told me to expect to take delivery in late June early July. I am trying to be patient but would like to see an update from the Owners Circle website. Thanks-

Do not rely on Owner's Circle. My car was "Awaiting Transport" for a week after I took delivery in San Diego. Mine was Euro Delivery so maybe they don't track as well as US deliveries.

Euro delivery may be different. Here is what i know.

On Order - call your dealer to find out what week your production is scheduled. I had wk18, which was first week of may, and i used both Owner's Circle and the 800 number to find out status. It won't change till the next stage till maybe 3 days prior to production prep.

Scheduled for Production - My car was completed May 3rd, as predicted. The 800 number is much more accurate than Owner's Circle (by two days or so), so use it with your production number to figure out what's going on with your car. The number is 1-800-831-1117. This usually takes a week or less.

Awaiting Transport - this is the time your car leaves the factory and is loaded on a train which goes directly to the port. Your car then had to wait to be loaded onto a ship. This whole process can take anywhere between 1-2 weeks. Ships don't set sail everyday, but more like every 3-4 days.

En Route - This is actual time at sea, usually between 10 and 18 days from what i've heard. This includes the time to unload and travel to the Prep Center.

At Preparation Center - Your BMW is in NJ, and they will perform tests on it as fast as possible. This usually takes a week. Most of the time, they have way too many cars to check and as a result, your car is just sitting around waiting its turn.

At your BMW Center - This is kinda misleading, because it could take about 2-14 days for your car to get to you, depending on what truck it comes on and which part of the country you live in.

Hope this helps and hang in there.

Congrats. In case anyone knows the name of the ship their car is currently on, you can use this real-time ship tracker to see where in the world the ship is:
