new headlights on 328i

Hi all,

I'm REALLY new to the car scene. I bought a 2010 328i x-drive with the sports package. The previous owner did not put HID lights on them.
If i want to change it to HID, what HID kit do you guys recommend? I see the forum topics on the different bulbs which is totally fine, but don't I need to put a HID kit before i change the bulb?

Sorry for the simple question and thanks for the time.

you need new headlight housings, you cant put hid bulbs in a halogen housing since it doesn't have a projector assembly. your cheapest bet i getting depo headlights or a better but more expensive alternative is oem xenons. your call

oh okay thanks for your help. I thought you could just buy an HID kit+bulbs and use the same housing. do you know any good places to get the housing etc?
