My 128i vert and BMW R1200RT cycle are in my 1 1/2 car garage, and the E91 wagon and my wife's Ford are parked as close to the house as possible. Of course, it looks like my area (DC 'burbs) will "only" see 40~50 mph winds and 6" of rain max. Our biggest worry is damage from falling tree branches which amounted to $4,000 to the 2 non-garaged cars in the "thundersnow" last Feb.
Good luck to you guys in the greater NYC area! Tom |

My E90 is the DD and will stay outside, 2 garage spots are occupied. But the house is on a large hill so water isn't a concern, it's the trees that worry me (for the cars in the driveway, and the house). The forecast for wind continues to diminish so I'm not too worried up here in MA.
Good luck to everyone! Be prepared and stay safe.

E92 is in the garage while in in Afghan. Hoping the house holds up well. Thankfully the E93 is on its way from CA so no worries there

Some tips from a FL person here.
Obviously park it in a garage if possible. If not (and you want to keep it at the house) keep it as close to the house and away from trees as you can. Be a little careful though, because at least down here a lot of houses have tile roofs and the tile comes flying off in hurricanes and can come down on the cars. My plan when it looked like Irene was heading towards FL was to park the cars that would have to be left outside in a parking garage by my house. If you can find a garage that doesn't tow, parking on a second or higher story towards the center of the garage will do a good job of keeping your cars safe from debris and flood water.

^ Good suggestion. We haven't had anything but blistering hot weather for the past 5 months now, but we occasionally have hailstorms and some high winds. My wife parks her 128 in a parking garage near her work when that happens, but I work from home and the E92 is safely in the garage every day.
