OEM Tint On E90???
My previous cars came with a slight tint to the windows. I've had my 2011 328i for about a month now. It doesn't seem like there's any tint at all from the factory. Is this the case or am I wrong?

I think the only reason it might have appeared to have a tint on your prior car is because the band at the top of the windshield was tinted on (I think) all 3er's prior to the 09 model year. Either with the 09 or 10 models they stopped tinting that area. I don't think the side and rear windows ever were.

I'm not talking about the tint at the top of the windshield, but the entire windshield and side windows.
GM advertises "Solar Ray" tinting. It's a metallic coating that generally results in a 70-80% tint. After owning 3 Camaro's and a Grand Prix, it doesn't appear that BMW is doing anything like this on the 3 series. It really made a difference as far as heat transfer. It's not a big deal, but I can feel the heat from the sun more in the BMW. Last edited by Wrngway; 08-27-2011 at 05:24 PM.. |
