BMW warning chime question

I have a E90 pre-LCI 325i and I have the chime that's pretty much like a beep. I've noticed that on newer BMWs, there's a different chime that's like a midi file and it sounds much more pleasant.

Does this sound come from the instrument panel? At first, I thought you only get this from iDrive cars but it seems like non-iDrive BMWs have this chime also.

Is it possible to get this on my E90?

I don't think it's possible to change that out, certainly not easily. Non-iDrive MY2009+ have the newer chime sound.
