Service engine soon?
I have a 2008 328i (e90) and the other day I was driving in m/s mode and the light came on. I didn\'t feel any power problems of anything.
I searched online and some people said they might have had a misfire or there gas cap is loose and i should turn off after 48 hours if problem isn\'t there. It\'s been 2 days and it just turned off.. What should I do?

If you have a scan tool see if there are any codes...if not, I guess wait and see if it comes back. imho it doesn't appear for no reason....but it could be a while before it comes back so no use worrying. That's why the tool is good....

It could be a faulty anything, if the light went off, the fault is gone. So I wouldn't be concerned unless it comes back on.

Okay thanks everyone for the comments, as to emissions, I do have a muffler delete but I don't think that changes emissions.
I'll wait to see if it comes back on, hopefully not.

Your car will have a stored code even if the light went out. Picking up a code scanner has paid off several times for me. I highly suggest them for anyone out of warranty, it costs less than one diagnostic scan from my dealer. No one can tell you anything accurate without the code.

39,000 miles,
I'm still in warranty and I have 2100 miles till I go in for oil change and stuff so should I just bring it up then?

You won't need to bring it up, they'll see the code when they scan it.

If its under warranty, why the hell dont you take to dealer??? DUH! All issues serviced in warranty period can be extended outside of warranty when repaired/replaced. Double DUH!
