2008 335i Rattling When Turning Left and Right (PLEASE HELP!)

I am a new BMW owner, and I have had alot of issues since buying my 2008 335i. Surprisingly none with HPFP. However, I am getting a sounds much like a ball bearing rolling when I turn left and right. I thought it was a water bottle rolling under the seat, but nada.

I'm losing my mind, and don't want to take it to the dealer until I absolutely have to.

Anyone have the same issue?!

You may want to remove the plastic belly pan under the engine. Check for rocks in the sub frame. I had to remove some when I purchased a used E46 a few years ago.

Already have. I can tell the sound is coming from the inside of the car. I believe it may be from the drivers seat, but when i look under it, There is nothing loose which makes me believe it's coming from inside the seat.

I had an issue with my car making some noise when I turned. It turned out the sway bar wasn't tightened up quite enough. You may want to check that. Although, if the sound is coming from inside the car then that probably won't help.

Haha you're never going to believe it, i was so pissed and borderline psychotic, i got down, and nearly dissasembled the drive seat. As soon as i get it lossened, i could see far enough down the vent exhaust under the drive seat. what do you know i find:

1 ball point pen
1 penny
1 small nut
1 breath mint

I guess everytime I turned, all of the stuff was shifting inside the plastic vent causing the sound. All i can hear now is the purr of the straight 6...love this car!

Never go back to Lexus again....

I had this happen, and I found it myself, much like you.

I was going to tell you that things like M&Ms and coins like to hide in the vents under the driver's seat.

just need a long nozzle vacuum and you're all set!

Good find!

yeah you would think that alot of people might have this problem. They should put a grid screen over it so that air can still flow, but crap like this can not. i keep my car immaculate and my fiance is not allowed anywhere near it. sadly all the junk in the vent was from prior owner.

Yeah I had the noise for months at it was 1 solitary nickel. I was like days away from bringing it in, and I'm glad I didn't.
