ECU Reset

Before I get flamed and told to use the function, I have. I have seen numerous threads about pulling the battery overnight, 10 minutes, 30 minutes...etc. Has the e90 community actually determined the defnite way to do a proper ECU reset?

In the e46 it was generally accepted that you turn the key to aux for 45 seconds, then turn off, then fully turn car on and that would do it.

Just surprises me after all of the years of this car being around there isnt an accepted method or official method from BMW.

Thanks in advance.

No I am referring to the ECU only. Nothing to do with tranny. I actually have a 6MT.

Really? No one has ever reset their ECU? Guess I will just get ghetto and unhook the battery for a while. Find it odd this car doesnt have a procedure for resetting the ECU....

i think 20 mins is pretty much safe bet. so if you were to install ecu engine mod most companies tell you to wait 15-20 mins i believe.
