Brake light partially out?

Today when I started my car, it pops up telling me I have a brake light malfunction, and sure enough half of my left brake light is out. Does this sound like I just need something like a new bulb or what?

It's the bulbs, the sensors will detect any bulb that will go out soon even though they are still working.

There are two brake bulbs per side.

what these two guys said.

are you out of warranty? my friend's 07 brake light went out on him 4 times... luckily it was under warranty so the dealership fixed it each time. i think after the 4th time though, they just swapped out the entire taillight though. he hasnt had a problem since (good thing too cuz his warranty is up now).

It's most likely just one of the bulbs in the housing since there's two as mofo said.

Just pop in a new bulb.
