All I can say is my pre Lci M Sport plus tourer pulls like a train on sterroids and is as smooth as virgins thigh "so I am told by people who know them"

The only mods I have, over and above the M Sport bits are:
19" x 8.5" rims running a square 255 35 setup.
A superchips re-map which now gives me 218 bhp.
A tuned 316 Stainless exhaust system.
I am told by my friendly tech at the dealers that E91's have a stronger clutch setup to accomodate the potential heavy loads that can be carried in all that lovely space in the back.

Could be due to the fact that the e91 did not have sport suspension?

e91 v. e92, we're talking 328, right? I find the 328 x-drive loaners are all smoother than my E92 335, but that's in the ride dept. and acceleration (albeit slower). The 335 is all but smooth at idle, that's comparing it to a Nissan where once you're used to the BMW, you forget that the Nissan is still running (I twisted the key once when it was on, when I dropped the 335 off and got into the Nissan which my wife drove to the shop). With Step 328's are subdued imho. One could argue a M3 is everything but smooth, so it depends what you're looking for. Sounds like the OP prefers the E91 experience.

17 inch all seasons vs 18's, Sport suspension likely, lower seating position also could contribute.

Could also have a lot fewer miles on those runflats. I noticed that my E93 ran a lot smoother when I replaced the rear RFTs.

My CPO '07 E91 (non ZSP) came stock with A/S Bridgestone RFTs on 16" wheels. It rides very smoothly yet is still no slouch on mountain roads.
