Puberty in the 335i?

Does the 335i go through puberty? Since it hit 17K miles, every once in a while my car develops a deep, basso profundo voice at low RPM. It has been doing it more so recently. I'm guessing the car has performed the golf tee mod upon itself. I probably shouldn't complain about this at the next service?

Complain? Leave it or do the mod properly. Sounds much better at idle.
