SES Light just came on

I bought an 08 335XI about 3 weeks ago now and so far it has been fantastic. Two days ago though, I put in about half a tank of gas and when I turned the car back on the SES light was on. I did check that the gas cap was on securely so I'm pretty sure I'm not having that issue. The car may or may not be idling a little bit rough and jerking a bit at low RPMs, I'm not sure if I'm just imagining these issues now that the light is on or if it has always been like that. Anyone have any idea what could be going on?

I live about 2 1/2 hours from my dealership so I'll take it in as soon as I can, just wanted to see if any of you guys have had similar issues.

There may not be anything wrong with the car, check that all your maintenance intervals are reset. For exp. oil change at 15000k, SES will come on at 14000k, telling you it's time for an oil change. All this should have been done at dealer but you never know, some dealer don't even know how to reset it. Do a search, there's a DIY on how to reset SES light.

You are incorrect. SES is only for emissions related issues. Take a look at the manual. Resetting maint and SES are two different animals.
