Need Rear Bumper
Looks like someone decided to run in to my rear bumper. Local bodyshop quoted me $750-$1000. Online, the rear bumper seems to run about $480 (#51127141053). I am trying to see the best way to deal with this.
08, 328i, sedan, no sensors. Insurance is out of the question since my deductible is $500 and rates will go high due to using discounts of no recent claims. Any input will be apreciated. |

seriously though, the quality of the paint job is what's gonna make the price on your repair. i'm guessing this was a hit and run? why not go through their insurance? i'm guessing $480 doesn't include paint, and if it does, it probably won't match your car.

save some cash and wait for your bumper to become FS already in your color.
I bought mine in excellent shape, no damage, for $300 shipped, no need for paint. Deals like this on stock bumpers are not uncommon. Post a WTB. Or if you have the cash and the mod itch, go OEM M tech, with performance diffusor if the itch is strong. |

Yes, this was a hit and run. $480 was just for the bumper before paint, just primed. I am getting so called "discounts" from not having a claim for 5 years. If I claim this on my insurance, with-in next year, I will pay over $500 which would be more than paying for this out-of my pocket. Sucks! I know.... |

Of course. This is not a car to be modded, the family car that few people drive. I posted here to see if there was a cheaper way to get it, which I found out already..
