How is this 2007 328xi
Have been a bimmer fan for quite a while, now finally ready to buy my first BMW car.
I plan to spend ~$20,000. I am in Midwest so it seems a bit hard for me to get a decent deal. I just found a 2007 328xi from a non-BMW dealer. The price is $18800 Mileage: 76,500 Exterior Color: Blue Interior Color: Grey Transmission: AUTO Premium package and cold weather package. CPO warranty up to 100K or 11/2012 . It has all FREE maintenance package until 100K miles as well. Does it sound like a fair price? I am kinda new and haven't been tracking the price. If it looks good, what should I do before I commit to buy it? Do I still have to take it to the BMW dealer for a pre-purchased inspection? Carfax came back OK, no wreck, 2 previous owners. I appreciate you inputs. Can't wait to join you guys. Thank you Wayde |

Not good
hey m8,
I think 76K on the car means that the car was raped day and night. 4 years on avergae of 15k will get you only 60K. the car is goin to land you in depression if you go for it, atleast after 100K since its CPO. If I were you i would find something else. By the way I have a 2007 328xi titanium silver. I paid 21K for the car and with warranty/New Tires came upto 26K change and my car had 39156 on it when I bought the car in March 2011. May be you can be more patient and try to find a better car. good luck. I rather do prefer a 2006 330i or 2006 330xi under 50K miles on it |

Thank you for the reply.
You are lucky to get such a nice car for a great price. I have been looking for months and any car with low mileage is really expensive, I modified the search and the lowest price for < 50,000 miles is ~$24,000 with no package on it. I was thinking a 2007 car if bought the end of 2006, that's almost 5Y. So 76,000 doesn't sound too bad ... |

hey,
thought id share my experience. i live in NYC and i bought a USED bmw 328xi last yr with 47k, manual, sports package, 17" rims, for $19000 - from $21k list price) in good condition in a non bmw dealer and traded my old car for $7000 so final price for a bmw $12000! not bad huh... so i tried to bring it to a bmw service center near my place and thought maybe they might charge me for small fees since i didnt buy it from them but guess what no i didnt pay a single penny plus i got to drive a loaner every time i go the service center. the good thing it was still under warranty so i had the chance to repair some of the issues like the door actuator (couldnt remote lock the doors), rear window not going up once you put it down), replaced with new rear windshield because defroster wasnt working on small area, oil change, changed wiper blades, deleted the "ticking" sound on the engine when it gets warmed up ($2000 to get that fixed) everything at NO COST!!! went back to them like 3x before warranty expired so im pretty much ok with the deal i got. bottom line is i guess there are still better deals out there. just have to be patient. good luck man! I now realize that the warranty coverage is quite important. I boosted up my budget and keep my eyes on those still under warranty. My old car can die in any minute and I am relocating to a small city where a BMW deal is even hard to find. So I am trying to get one asap. I know I probably won't get the best deal but would really hope I could get a decent one. |
