Issue with N55 Gintani/OE Tuning flash tune
I posted a new topic when I first got N55 flash tune from OE Tuning.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=572059 It has been a month since I got the tune. Thankfully, I did not experience any malfunction to the car after I got the tune. However, I am not totally satisfied with the power gain I got from it. Car is faster than stock software but it is not as fast as I expected from car tuned to run at 14psi boost from stock 9-10psi. 2 days ago, for the first time on my car, I used Burger Tuning CAN Tool to find out my boost and IAT. I regret that I did not do this earlier. Anyway, it surprised me that my car only boosted max 10.5psi. This is almost stock boost level! Terry from Burger Tuning confirmed with me that CAN Tool boost display function should be pretty accurate for my car as long as gauge is properly calibrated (I checked that my gauge is well calibrated using CAN Tool test function). If what I am logging with CAN Tool is my car's true boost value, then it kind of explains why my car does not feel as fast as I expect it to be. I think my car's just running with stock boost level with modified fuel, timing, and etc. I sent email to Jeremy at OE Tuning yesterday asking about this. I have not received email from him, yet. I will keep the post updated as it seems like there are quite few people interested in getting this flash tune. P.S. Beside the boost issue, I am getting downpipe cat inefficiency (0x3106) and DME not encoded (0x36BE) code. Jeremy is aware of this issue and he is working on it. |

I'm interested to know how this plays out, I'm not too happy with my tune either. I sometimes feel as if my JB pulled harder than the flash, I might consider just going for the JB4

Jb3/4 pulls 16-17 psi proven all day long with supporting bolt ons and 93 octane fuel (with NOS meth additive). It's truly exhilarating, I am very pleased with it.

I don't like threads like this... At the same time I do appreciate the reviews... Unless Jeremy (or one of his associates can chime in on this), I may have to re-think my decision to dump the JB3 and go for the flash... I'd hate to pay 700 to have a flash that is near stock levels...

FWIW, When I emailed Cobb, they said they'd have something for the N55 around xmas or New Years. If the Proceed camp doesn't get their shit together, I'll probably hold out for Cobb.

I have not heard any from OE Tuning. I tried to call them without success. I think I will just give up on this tune. |
