Talking Dinan Stage 1 F10 550i xDrive 1/4 Run

I was sitting around today bored as hell but wanted to run my F10 at a 1/4 mile track. So I looked around and found a track about 1hr away. I made it to the track at 3:30PM and they close at 4:30PM. I got registered and hit the track.

I was able to make 10 runs and the best I got was 12.485sec at 110.83MPH. My other runs ranged from 12.88 - 12.55sec. Overall, I was very happy with the cars performance.

I know I can get it a little better but this was great for my first time to the track with this car...The car launches awesome and its very easy to get a good launch.

Nice run! Did you happen to weigh your car while you were there? I'm hoping to get out once before the season ends...

great to see some 1/4 mile times

What were the temps like last weekend went you were at the track?
Also - were you shifting manually or auto?

Looking forward to the S2 results

temps were about 70-80 degrees and I was in sport+ automatic for all of the runs. With a little cooler weather and S2, I hope I can break into the high 11s or lower 12s which would be unbeleivable...

11's might be a stretch. Go on an empty tank and drop in 5gals of unleaded race fuel. I bet 12.3@112 wouldn't be out of the question if you can get your 60' between 1.6-1.7...

put race fuel, empty the car out, good launch (1.6ish 60ft),
you should be in high 11's with 120 mph.

good luck!

I only had an hour yesterday and didnt want to waste a run. When I go back this weekend, I will try a few different setups and see what works best. There is also a little bit of water for the rwd cars and sometimes its hard to avoid it completly so I was worried about excessive tire spin on my launch....But I will try it....

I think you can go straight to Dinan stage 2 with no need for stage 1.

Anyone know the real truth about warranty issues? From what i read, Dinan just warranties there parts for the same length as the vehicle warranty... Doesn't seem like they would do anything if the car actually had an issue? What about BMW dealerships, do they even care of the chip is installed?

Actually, Prestige BMW NJ installed my Dinan Stage 1 and included it in the lease price and they just installed Stage 2 which I paid out of pocket. The Dinan warranty is good for 4 years and if it was such a problem then I dont think the dealership would of installed it.
