What do you think of the I-drive on your E90?

well, this may sound a little odd to ask...but as you know models that comes w/out i-drive looks really plain/bored on the dashboard and not interesting to sit in and explore.
how many of you guys didnt have the I-drive in your E90s?

Hey Bimmer
The pb you've got in KL is about the same as here in HK : no nav system. besides HK gov does not allow the tuner and DVD either. So that means 5000 US$ (HK price including tax) for a display and a mouse to control the air con and stereo. Same as you, I first found the dashboard too plain and I almost did not buy the car (I even started to go to MB and Audi showrooms and even considered keeping my 18 months 320e46). Then after a month, I eventually found the dashboard quite ok. Minimalism is in fashion !
Of course i-drive makes the board look less plain (I did not say boring) but that does not worth 5000 US. I was ready to put 2000 for that toy but not more. I am going to get a car w/o i-drive but I am pretty sure I won't miss it ( I might miss more the L7 which I did not order).

Olivier, i-Drive does not worth HK$40000. In addition, the dashboard still looks good without i-Drive, don't be worry. You choice is a Good Decision.
On the contrary, the 18" 162 Wheel is a must. I feel sad as I cannot have the choice when I purchased the car....I am looking for it in the after market.

Hi Steward, still enjoying your new baby ?
Last time I checked the price of i drive (which is april 10 when I ordered) BMW said 22,500 HK$ + 85% taxes. No negotiation was
possible as always...
I saw you did not take the i-drive either. And yes I agree with you
not taking the 162 was a small mistake. I also hesitated, again because of the 85% on top of the option, but I found out that a set of 18 or 19" wheels + tires purchased in HK would cost me more than the option. My mistake was not to take the L7 which is pretty good (the salesman did not know much about the audio and did not explain the L7 properly....).
Btw, I was wondering : does the car comes with folding mirrors ?
