warranty expiring - service indicator question

My warranty runs out in a 3 weeks. The OBC indicates an oil change is due in 1000 miles. I've heard some dealerships refuse warranty service unless the computer indicates 100 or less miles. I don't think I can drive 1000 miles in 3 weeks, so I'm hoping there are dealers out there that will allow the oil change with, say, 500 miles remaining. Any thoughts?

i too am in the same predicament. warranty and free maitnenance is over and the end of this month. need to drive 1k miles. ima spend more money on gas than the oil change would cost. i had bmw dealer perform a "low mileage oil change". they change oil only. no filter or inspection.

I too had the low mileage oil change done recently. Didn't realize they dont change the filter! Is this standard practice?

I think it has to do a lot withe the dealer. Our dealer has been absolutely great to deal with, nothing ever negative. Our 325i Warranty/Maintenance agreement ran out at the end of September. We had to take it in approx 2-3months ago for warranty work (water pump) and the OBC at that time indicated front brakes due in 2000 miles. Dealer changed the front brakes under the maintenance agreement without asking. Went into the dealer to pick up the car and my S/A said , oh by the way we changed the front brakes. There was no way we would have put 2000 miles on the car in 2-3 months so we were pleasantly surprised that the dealer performed the work. I really wonder if there is a little flexibility on the dealers part whether to perform the work or not under the free maintenance program, maybe worth asking another dealer. Our 325i was sold and serviced at this same dealer, don't know if that has any bearing on the decision to do the work or not.
