Looking for a recommended dealer for "free maintenance" in San Jose

You mean under warranty? They're pretty much all about the same (unfortunately they're all hit or miss; but mostly miss)...

I've been to Stevens Creek BMW (few miles from where I live). Disappointing.
Been to Mountain View BMW (also not far from my house, maybe 10-15 minutes freeway drive). Also disappointing.
Fremont BMW was the best thus far. If you go to Fremont BMW for service, ask for Nick Lal to be your service adviser

Be sure to call in ahead of time and let Nick know that you need a loaner vehicle. He'll try to hook you up with a nice 335 or something

p.s. grats on an '08 BTW and welcome to the forum!

Thanks. Ended up going to Steven Creek just because it was closest to me and was not disappointed. I told the (considerably attractive) SA to not overfill the oil and she actually wrote a note for the tech (instead of just a smile and nod). I checked the oil before I left and it was indeed not overfilled (a first).

You will be sorely missed! Just think of being stuck on 101 as cruzing and it won't be as bad...

Yup, there's a 101 freeway up here. It can get just as congestive as the one down in LA
