Rear Brake pads worn!
Today my car is going in for his first maintenance. (25.000km / 15625miles)
And for one reason or another I got a big alert on my iDrive screen yesterday that said: "Rear brake pads worn". I checked them by looking and they seemed fine to me. (about 5mm left) But my question now is, is the alert programmed (by mileage) or is it really a censor that detect's if they're worn or not? |

It's most likely corrupted CDS data that needs to be reset. You may need a software update as I did. I had a similar problem with engine oil change reading that was completely wrong and rear brake pad data also incorrect. Your SA can do a 5 minute check of pad life without giving the car to a tech. My car was a 9/10 build that showed 3,000 miles remaining on the rear pads after 5,000 total miles on the car. At the same time, it said I had 38,000 miles remaining on the front pads!

My car has 10,000 km and is asking for a rear pad change at 22,000 km. Seems awfully soon. The fronts are asked to be replaced at something like 48,000 km.
Anybody else?
