so the Z4 was stolen a few weeks ago.

So I had the '04 3.0i for a year now, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Until, someone stole it with a tow-truck from Keele subway station (Toronto), and it ended up with a bunch of parts removed, vandalized, and torched. I'm not getting much back from insurance, even after haggling back and forth.

Problem is, I don't see any suitable replacements on Autotrader or Kijiji.

I bought the car last year October for $14,500.
2004 Z4 3.0i
Dark Gray w/ Dream Red Leather Interior
101,000km
+ Sport Package
+ Premium Package
+ DVD Navigation
+ Premium Sound
+ Extended Leather on the doors
+ SMG

... a year later, I'm not finding anything even comparable for sale, especially in that price range.

I need a new car ASAP, not sure what to do. At this point I'm basically looking at a considerable downgrade to a '03 2.5i or a e46 325i in the same price range.

Anyone on here plan on selling their Z4 anytime soon?

Ideally, around the same amount, around $15,000.
I got back $13k from Insurance.

Sucks to hear. When I had my car stolen a few years ago, I took it as an opportunity to switch up to something different for roughly the same price range. Even though I had no intentions on getting rid of the car that was stolen, in the end I used it as an opportunity to sample some of the other cool rides that are out there.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks gferil. I thought about other cars too, but it really has been only a year with the Z4. I think I may have to look at other opportunities given the sudden price increase this year of Z4's in Canada. For the same price I can get an '06 330i or even a 525i with the N52 and do the intake+tuning upgrade to a 530i.

Just so bored of 3's and 5's. (Have had a 3 for 10 yrs, and have 2 more in the family, and my dad has a 5'er). Maybe I should just jump ship and try out some Audi's or Benz's...

Didn't initially see that you're in Canada. Best advice is to breaden your search area

Although I really appreciate BMW's, and over half my cars have been BMW's, I'm all for checking out Audi and Benz to see what they have to offer, they may not have the exact feel of a BMW, but I'm sure they make up for it in other areas. I wish I knew more about the car market in Canada to give you better advice, but it sounds like you are already on the right path. My only advice to give is test drive lots of different cars (within your time limit since you said you need a new one ASAP) so you can get a good feel for them, and do real test drives, none of this quick 10-20 minute stuff. If possible, rent your own car to extend the time frame for being able to test stuff out, a few hundred bucks of your own money will be worth it in the long run if it means getting a better feel for the car you'll be spending years with.
