still looking for a 1M

i'm still desperately trying to find a new 1M. long story short, i'm not rich and it's taken me awhile to get the money together but this car is one in a million for me and i'm ready to buy one today. i've looked all over the country and online but haven't been able to make it work out. i've even got a $1000 deposit at a dealer who is promising they'll make a 2012 1M, even though i've read all the articles and am all but sure they won't. can anyone please please please help me?!

i'm hoping to find a black 1M with the hk stereo and heated seats.. i really want it NOT to have navi, but would be okay if it had valencia orange paint instead of the black.

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Best thing to do man is check this forum a LOT. The exact car you wanted was posted today for list. Took 45 minutes before someone swooped in a grabbed it.

Not sure how many are BS, but there are a few up there.

robert, are you kidding me?! damn, wish i'd seen it.. i've been checking in as much as i can, but i didn't see that one.

dcb, yeah i tracked down a bunch of the ones that have been on autotrader, but the ones not asking 10k over list have long since been sold.. guess they're just leaving them up to generate some traffic. frustrating

...oh yeah, i did see that post. when i opened it and saw the car was sold i didnt scroll down to see the details. almost exactly what i was looking for, and i def would've gone for it if i'd seen it early enough. sad, sad. at least they're still out there. thanks again, i'll just keep doing what i can and hoping for the best!

I second the recommendation to check here...incessantly. You will probably find something sooner or later.

One of my former colleagues just picked one up for $5k over. Not great, but better than the $10K they were asking for. I think as the market settles a little, your price may come into being. Best of luck to you.

yep, I just hope the market settles before they're all gone. I've talked to every dealer in about 18 states but haven't had any luck. just got done calling a dozen dealers who have 1Ms listed on autotrader or the like. but every one, including the "newly listed" ones, have already been sold or were special ordered.. I'll just keep calling, checking here 500 times a day and keep my fingers crossed. that, and continue to be sooo jealous of all of you who have a 1M listed next to "drives"

awesome, thanks! i didnt realize there is a section with cars for sale.. something new for me to check incessantly. and i appreciate you guys pointing out the 1M for sale, but I think alpine white, navigation and $5k over the list that includes options i don't want is one too many concessions for me to make. i may be kicking myself 6 months from now when i still havent found one, but i'm gonna try to hold out for something a little closer to the ideal.

Most everything on Autotrader seems to be automatic postings once the car is checked into inventory. Keep calling, you might get lucky though!

I got super lucky and got one for 2500 over off eBay. Keep you eye on there as well if you call the seller prior to the car receiving any bids you might be able to get them to sell prior to auction ending.

If its any help, I was in the SAME exact situation as you. It took me 3 months of calling and waiting lists to find one. Don't give up!!

I would not wish upon you the feeling I had when it finally donned on me that I had missed all the allocations and there's absolutely no more for me. It was not nice. Fortunately we were given another 100 and I'm now awaiting mine.

It's probably easier to live with options that aren't 'ideal' than to live with no 1M at all. Good luck.

i agree, and i'm willing to be flexible on the color and options. but simon's is exactly what i don't want (other than it being a 1M, obviously) and it was too expensive.. just didn't feel right. but i am gonna be devastated if things don't work out! thanks for the advice, and the luck. i'm sure i need it!

agreed! and trust me i am. i don't have a lot of free time but i've been running out to call dealers every chance i can and i've got my phone set to go directly to this forum and the for sale section on 1addicts so i can check them literally every time i've got 5 free seconds. i'm singularly focused, let's just hope that'll be enough.
