Just Ordered First Thing for My Car - Nothing but the Best for My Girl!

Too bad they don't offer orange stitching!

To all those guys that keep comparing the 1M against the Cayman and Evora TRY SHOVING ONE OF THESE INTO THE BACK OF ONE!

My daughter loves riding in my "race car." My son is 9 and when I pulled up and he saw it for the first time from the front, he said " Dad, your looks like it wants to eat me!" Now he asks to hit the start button every morning so he can hear the roar when it's cold.

I am surprised the kids like the car too. I really think there is something cartoonish...hot-wheels like about the car that appeals to kids....and big kids too.

When both cars are in the garage, my 18month son keeps walking to the 1M and tries to open the door. Too bad he gets dragged into the other car.
The recaro fits great in the car...sadly my daughters booster seat doesnt work well, it pushes down on the seat belt latch.

My old one was pushing on the seat belt receptacle also, it's kinda "limp." Did you get this model..."Vivo?"

We have the recaro como (has its own harness) and this works. Does the vivo use the car's belts?
My daughter's clek olli booster doesnt. Need to find a narrower booster seat.

Yes, VIVO uses belts, it's a booster for bigger kids. My kid is 5 years old. Maybe we should start a car seat thread with reviews on fit. I can do the first one once I get it. I was actually suprised I can get a Recaro booster for about $90.

We have the Britax Boulevard 70CS which fits nice and snug especially with the rear headrest raised in it's last height position.

That seat is AWESOME! My seats are definitely not as cool. I have 2 identical twin boys(2yo) so I have to buy 2 of EVERYTHING, yayyy. I got these, not cheap but they seem safe at least....

Those are high-tech! My girl is older but if she was smaller that seat looks really good. I was surprised the Recaro seat was only $89.99 with free shipping. They have more expensive ones but that's pretty good.

How is the fit in the 1M? I think we should get a list together of seats that work well, fit the belts and don't gouge the leather. The Graco I had in my old car doesn't work well in the 1M which is why I ordered this one.

My 4-yr old daughter has this one (Jany Indy Racing Team - Isofix). Moved it over from my M3. Indeed, unlike the M3, it pushes down on the seat belt latch in the 1M, except if wiggled a bit.

Probably alike most of you, my daughter spends most of her car journeys in my wife's car. When my wife is on board, or when I drive her car, my daughter behaves like her personal parrot: "Easy, daddy, speeding is bad!". However, when mommy is not on board, she shouts "Faster! Faster!" with an evil grin on her face. Traffic-lights acceleration turns out to be her favorite. She often starts laughing during acceleration, and when I lift my foot to avoid cop-trouble, she asks "Do it again, daddy! More-more !". I assume she has some sort of M-button which is only activated when mommy is not around.

YES! Impressive design, looks great in the car and daughter loved it this morning. Getting the belt hooked is a problem but I don't think it's the seat's fault. The receptacle is "limp." You have to holder it with another hand to get it to work. I had similar problem with other car seat but a little more noticeable because seat is wide. On the other hand, there are no sharp edges to damage the leather like cheaper Graco seat. I will have to figure something out to keep the seat belt receptable firm......little blue pill???? not sure yet. : )

PS. Materials, fit and finish are MUCH better in real life than picture. The seat is very nice and looks 10x better in person than in the picture in case anyone cares about the look. : )

Update: Took a long trip with daughter and she complains about the mesh being too abrasive. It is a little abrasive. With long pants it's Ok but her arms rub on it. She is a little sensitive but it is a little scratchy so if your kid is sensitive, they might not like it. Wish it was microfiber or somethign else. Plan to keep it and hope she gets used to it. Everything else is outstanding, just materials a little coarse. I hope that helps.

BMW makes baby seats that fit the cars and even use the ISO Fix system. Some are pretty cool looking, though expensive.

My two cents; I put a maxi cosi complete air seat in for my daughter. She loves the car and the seat, and even better, it comes in black with 'tango red' highlights, which is not far off the orange stitching colour. Everyone's happy

One other tip; I bought the prince lionheart seat saver from amazon. The one piece seat saver is a perfect fit, with flexible, foldable seams in all the perfect places! $15 well spent.

The only complaint I have with the 1M and Child Seats is that the rear seat belts seem a little short. I have a nasty habit of pulling the belt all the way out and locking it (i.e. it goes in but not back out). This isn't a problem for ISOFIX seats or the ones with intergrated harnesses but my daughter's in a large booster (pic to follow) so when I lock the belt she can't lean forward at all.

That's good info. Post the model so that other 1 series guys and gals don't end up buying the thick seat. The Recaro fits nice and the belt is fine but I am exchanging it. The silver mesh is too abrasive for my daughter and she keeps griping about it. I found the same seat in "Midnight Desert" and it is all Microfiber, not abrasive mesh so I will get that one instead.

The only issue from the car side, is that the rear seat belt receptacle is short and limp so it's hard to find it next to the seat and you have to hold it with one hand, then use the other to mate it.

No gripe here, this was not really intended for kids but we can help each other out by posting which seats really don't work well in the car; or in my case, with my kid. Too bad because I like the color better of the black/grey Recaro but tired of the griping. It takes the fun out of the car! : )

This seat should do the trick.

PS If anyone in San Diego has a kid that is not as senstive as mine and wants a good deal on a brand new Recaro Booster, let me know!
