iDrive freezing, replacement under warranty?
My iDrive has started acting up lately, will load to main menu but then freeze until the car is restarted. Has happened a few times but not everytime, I am still under the original warranty will I be able to get this replaced? especially before my warranty is up.

Depending on the warranty level you have, it would be covered under some, and not under others.
When I first read that, I was thinking it literally had ice on it... EDIT: i had an old eclipse nav that would do the same thing when it got cold. Had to replace the hard drive in it. Last edited by cole92; 10-31-2011 at 02:49 PM.. |

I would think that as long as you can replicate it in front of the tech, that they would replace it under warranty no questions asked.
EDIT: maybe you could take a video of it and take that in as well? |

I recently got my whole radio replaced under warranty.
If you have remaining factory warranty you'll have no problems, just go to the dealer. Things like that are not covered under the CPO warranty. |

I am still under the original 4yrs/50k thats why I want the issue addressed before its up in April 2012. not worried about running out of miles just hit 20k yesterday. Ill try to talk to them about it.. video is a good idea, it always happens at random times.

It would be covered under your 4year/50k warranty. Props for your low mileage.

Get it to happen and drive straight to the dealer without turning it off, then schedule your appointment, it should be covered, maybe you just need a software update or similar...

Thanks, I've only had it since April, bought it with 12500 miles, so I've actually been driving it a lot in comparison to the last owner which was a dr. in Sarasota who probably didn't even live there full time.
