Update: No Re flash of ecm for 50hp more from BMW in the future.

I just drop my car for visual inspection regarding to my oil service meter. it is totally different issue.. I asked the Foreman at New Century BMW regarding to 50 hp re flash on the ECM from the dealership. He laugh at me. He said no such thing. BMW in the future will not have any special service "50hp" reflash the ECM. 5-8-07 Updated, Sorry folks to bust your dream n hope away. We still have Aftermarket company to give us juice. lol

Not a huge deal. I can go with Dinan if I am worried about warranty.

Either way, its total specualtion. CA's & SA's are about as relaible as the average forum member when it comes to future products, often far less so. I personally think that these specific internal tipsters are pissing their pants laughing at the forum posts that ensue after they BS customers with these 'on the down low, man I heard...' insider tips. Regardlless, even if the head of BMW's performance division posted a video refutation of these rumors, people would still call BS because they so badly want to believe.

There is a big difference between BMW selling future 335i models with a tweaked ECU producing more HP and torque than the 2007's, and them offering current owners a reflash. The first is almost a certainty and the second almost a "not a chance in hell". Get the difference?

No you can't! Dinan/BMW are breaking away from each other.

That might be true, but my dealer still keeps reminding me that Dinan items will be available and with no warranty issues. This could be lack of information on their side or blowing smoke up my ass. Either way if I were to do the Dinan flash I would probably be able to argue warranty issues better than if I threw in a Procede if they do break away...

I'd be embarrased to have asked that question to the foreman.

Dinan doesn't have anything available for the 335i and they're grossly over-priced. If you are truly concerned with warranty then I wouldn't mod your car unless you have a great relationship with your SA.

I know they don't have anything yet. They are working on LSD, Flash and exhaust. Rep said next couple of months.

So what we've learned from this thread is that different people say different things, but no one has any proof. Yet what each person has been told verbally far outweighs any opposing, yet equally unsubstantiated, claims read on the intertubes.

Wanna bet that they just show "more" HP and TQ on paper without tweaking a thing (although they may say they made some 'minor' tuning changes)? After all, according to all the mag tests and our own dynos, we all know that the current stock 335i really has ~ 320+ BHP and ~ 330+ lb.-ft. TQ.

right...honestly, Dinan SUCKS for the most current generation of BMW's...they are so far behind it's pathetic. everyone is passing them BIG TIME (AA, Vishnu, Turner etc.). when they claim bankruptcy, they'll look back and scratch their heads and wonder what went wrong...

DUH! you need to keep up w/ your competition and continue to innovate with all of the new models! simple as that!

Or maybe BMW gave them the bad news about taking the performance aftermarket in-house, so they are getting out of the business, or parts of it.

well considering my dealer knew nothing until i emailed my SA on the performance stuff...it is possible he doesn't have a clue as to bmw putting out the performance catalog!!! my SA ran to the parts to find out what's up and by the end of the month they will be receiving their brochures!!! maybe not right away but i have no doubt they will be offering ecu mods!!!! and i am sick and tired of hearing dinan is grossly overpriced...the stuff is warranted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and though power gains will not be as high as shivs i will take 20 less hp if it includes a warranty for a couple hundred more any day of the week!!!!! though i love the procede!!!!! i had a 95 bhp gain in my e34 540 and it only cost me about 3k total...$800 for 2 chips(15-25 each) and $100 for i high flow induction tube(25 hp) and about $1500 exhaust(35 hp).... so right there is $2400 for 100 hp on a non turbo car!!!! and they are warrantied and never had any ecu problems!!!!!! so for 100 hp gain for $2400...i can't complain one bit...though my dealer is already talking about dropping dinan in light of this new BMW performance catalog cause they are a pain to deal with!!!!
