Dam that sux!

I was planning on just removing mine for a cleaner look. Maybe not now unless someone knows a way to clean up.

Is it just adhesive residue? If so Goo Gone works really well for that type of stuff.

Get some "3M Finess-It II". That stuff will take those marks right out. It works wonders on scratches and paint imperfections.

Do NOT use Goof Off. It will haze the clearcoat on new water-based clear coats.

I guess we need to be perfectly clear before we start dishing out detailing advice. Not sure how the spoiler itself left marks?

Need more info:
-are these clearcoat surface scuffs or scratches we are looking at?
-or is it residue from the 3M tape?
-what did you use to remove the spoiler, then the residue?
-what type of cloth?
-did you rub to remove the tape residue?

- It feels like surface
- possibly but tried using a microfiber and detail spray to remove
- Fisihing Line back and forth motion
- Microfiber
- Used goof off on a towel lightly removed the residue then microfiber with detailer spray.

Use a machine buffer with a nice finishing compound. Problem solved I promise.

Bring it to Phil @ Detailers Domain- I'm sure he'll be able to take care of that quickly...

Hell, I would do it for free if you were passing through NY/CT area. Easy to make that as good as new.

Lots of so so advice here.

There looks to be me to two things going on here.

First you for sure have residue from the adhesive used to hold on the stock spoiler. For that you want to use goo gone or 3m Adhesive remover. If neither of these work, try Tarminiator. Finally if these don't get it off of there (unlikely) then try a fine claybar like Sonus.

Secondly, since you used fishing line instead of dental floss you more than likely marred your paint, I think I see some distinct vertical lines in your picture (hard to tell due to PQ). These you are going to need to buff out with something like a Meguries a 205 or a Menzerna 106 on a white foam pad and a random orbital machine like the Flex 3401 or PC 7401.
